Sugawara versus Ryuu
Stipulation: draw using traditional brush and line

.................................................................................................

Not to be reckoned when his swords are drawn, Sugawara, Kabuki Warrior, teaches Ryuu a thing or two about the way of sword- A sheathed sword is much more beautiful. and less dangerous.

"Thing is with the katana is that they are made by humans; it is innately evil. Do you get my point young warrior?" -- Mononotagari Sugawara text

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Direct to paper approach on inks and brush/ And occasional inkwash.

57 Minutes.

........
footnote:

in keeping with the tradition alive, even though i had the choice, I kept things imperfect.

"There is beauty in imperfection."

I quite like the way you handle inks :) in this particular piece we can see your mastery over it ^^
I find the hair effect is simply amazing (and fitting!), this reminds me of traditional japanese prints. Wonderful work
